Position Summary

We’re currently accepting applications for an experienced and/or qualified Welfare Assistant to join our highly regarded team at our Oats Street Rehabilitation service, for clients with an acquired brain injuries. In this temporary part-time position, you will be working 30 hours per fortnight on Tuesdays and Thursday`s initially for 12 months, with the possibility of extension.


Reporting to the Rehabilitation Coordinator, you will work closely with and under the guidance of two Social Workers to ensure that our clients receive all relevant financial and practical entitlements to maximise their quality of life during and following their admission. 


You will support our clients by establishing their particular needs in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team, making applications with and for our clients and their families and demonstrating a high level of accuracy in record keeping to support the wider team with quality information.


To be successful in your application you will possess a Year 10 or equivalent certificate and/or have experience in Human Services, as well as knowledge of income support services and community resources. A national Police Certificate (less than one year old) or willingness to apply for one and a current 'C' Class Driver's Licence is also essential for this role. Qualifications in Community Services will be highly regarded.
